Rubber flooring materials are obtained from natural or synthetic rubber. Various fillers are mixed to give color and softness to the rubber. The amount of rubber in a material should not be less than 35%. Relatively resistant to chemicals, water and moisture, but not always resistant to acids and oils.
PROPERTIES OF RUBBER MATERIALS
Rubber floor covering absorb noise, are flexible, resistant to chemicals, water and moisture, are highly resistant to cigarette burns, become slippery when wet, and are an expensive solution.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Vacuuming, wet and dry mopping and washing can be done. When alkaline cleaners are used on the surface, it should not be left on the surface for more than 5 minutes. If left, the surface may be damaged.
Usage areas
It is generally used in hotel rooms and sports venues.
Flexible coatings are materials that provide economic, dense and non-absorbent floor surfaces, as well as being durable and requiring little maintenance. Its flexibility feature ensures that the coating is resistant to continuous pressure, and also provides a quiet and comfortable movement on the floor. The comfort level of a flexible floor covering depends not only on its flexibility, but also on the material used as underlay and the rigidity of the carrier substructure.
None of the flexible covering materials have all the properties expected from a floor covering at the same time. Below are the types of coatings that work well in certain areas.
Flexibility and Silence: Cork tile, rubber tile, homogeneous vinyl tile.
Compressive Strength: Homogeneous vinyl floor tile, vinyl plate, vinyl coated cork tile.
Corrosion Resistance: Rubber tile, homogeneous vinyl tile, vinyl compound tile, linoleum.
Alkali Resistance: Vinyl coated cork tiles, vinyl plates, homogeneous vinyl tiles, rubber tiles.
Oil Resistance: Vinyl plate, homogeneous vinyl tile, vinyl-coated cork tile, linoleum.
Long Life: Homogeneous vinyl tile, vinyl plate, vinyl compound tile, rubber tile.
Ease of Maintenance: Vinyl plate, homogeneous vinyl tile, vinyl compound tile, vinyl-coated cork tile.
